Risk threshold

Definition

Risk threshold is a project management tool to measure the acceptance variation around an objective. And it reflects the risk appetite of the organization and stakeholders to tolerate risk(s).

Based on the stakeholders' risk appetite, the project manager should analyze the risk tolerance to calculate the risk threshold.

Generally, negative risks within the tolerances will be accepted by an organization if they are in balance with the resulted benefits from taking this.
